I've been tie dyeing for the past two days, and although it doesn't seem to be a very crafty endeavor or require much skill, it's a lot of fun with instant gratification.

I like to keep a pile of stained shirts in the back closet, adding to it when I have a spill or discover a spot. When I get a nice big pile, I whip out the Rit dye and then my shirts become wearable again.

My neighbors probably think I'm having a hippie convention at my house.

I have tons of white shirts that eventually turn not-so-white or get stains in them, what I great way to hang on to them. I will defiantly have to remember this.

I'm surprised at how bright these are. Awesome! RIT never comes out that bright for me or any of my friends. I especially like the reddish top with the blue bulls eye.

I always have a pile of stained shirts put away somewhere too. It builds till I'm in the mood to dye stuff or come up with a design idea. Though I usually forget where the pile is and end up pulling out regular shirts and later have trouble finding something to wear that isn't tie dyed  Cheesy

Also, tie dying definitely is crafty and requires skill, even if it doesn't seem like it. You can get very complicated with design/color combinations!

When I started looking at the pictures...before reading your last line...lol I said..."I dunno if I went to heaven or hippie hell." Fav qoute from Flashback....

Great Idea, do not know why I never thought it doing that myself. Seems like I might be saving a lot of white stuff from now on...Tongue

I agree wholeheartedly. It can definitely be more than just rubber bands and RIT dye. There are lots of dyes out there and lots of ways to tie up a shirt.

What an awesome way to recycle, I love tie dye! I especially love your bird shirt. I'm bookmarking this idea. Great job.  Cheesy
P.S - Nothing wrong with a Hippie convention.  Tongue
