Just finished my second ever pair of socks! They are a rare 'me' knit from non-cheap yarn (usually only knit the good stuff for gifts), a yummy variegated mohair/nylon blend (you can't tell from the pic but it has a hint of a sparkle).

I think I have the makings of a sock-knitting addict - I have already cast on pair number 3 (sparkly blue/purple cotton for a friend) and am already accumulating yarn for future crazy socks (shiny purple acrylic slub, anyone?) just because I like the idea of wearing something fairly small and subtle but unique and nothing like you could buy in the shops.  Grin
Next challenge is kneesocks...

Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.

I LOVE the colorway. What kind of yarn is it?

Very nice! The colors look like Noro, but they don't make sock yarn do they?

No, it's not Noro, it's Diadomina in colourway 317 by Diakeito - big Japanese yarn company, their yarn is everywhere here. It's 50% wool, stranded with nylon (29%) which makes it sort of sparkly, and mohair which gives it a soft pink fuzz!
It's not really a sock yarn - it's supposed to be knit on size 7 needles, but I knit my socks on Japanese size 4s and it came out just fine. I was lucky enough to find a well-written basic sock pattern which allowed me to figure out the 'recipe' for working with half the number of stitches (I cast on 44, so they went pretty quickly!)
