so I've been coveting the sleepmask that Audrey Hepburn wears in Breakfast at Tiffany's for ages and my interest was sparked again when my mom put some perfect supplies for it in my easter basket.  anyway, I'm sure this'll make more sense with pictures...
 



 
this thing took a bit of planning, just to get it looking well put-together.  blue satin and a soft pink fabric for the part laying against your eyes.  sandwiched between the two is a thicker fabric, plus a few other well-secured pieces to make the 'eyelids'.  braided gold thread for the eyebrows.  then the lashes, the elastic band and some trim around the edge and voila!

action shot.  as I was working on the eyelids, I was wondering if it was even worth it, but you can really notice them and I love how they ended up looking.  even the crease halfway down, like on a real eye.  I feel so cartoon-glamorous in this mask.

to answer the lash questions.  they're from the craft store, but I'm not totally in love with them.  well, I am, but I'm nervous since I move around a lot in my sleep.  but for show, they're fab.  I'm thinking about making it again with something else and maybe finding something else for the elastic part to make that gold as well.

I always stare at that eye mask of hers, and those really cool tasseled ear plugs! Kudos for making it, because I have thought about it a thousand times and was always afraid of messing it up.
