This is the first dress/jumper/romper I've made for my first baby girl, due in June.  Yay!!!  (I have boys.)  It was so simple, and I love it.  I already have fabric lined up for 3 or 4 more.

Front:

Back:

And detail of the buttons (I've finally mastered the buttonhole feature on my sewing machine!):

I used coral colored, 1" shell buttons.  I'm hoping they stand up to the washing machine (turned inside out, on the gentle cycle), because with 3 little kids, I don't do handwashing. Roll Eyes

Any and all comments/questions welcomed.

Sead, that is sooo cute!  I love it.  And I'm also having a girl in June (and I have all boys---3 of them)   Grin

Did you use a pattern?  If so, which one??  I would love to whip some of these up as well.  I'm having the hardest time finding little girl clothes that I like.

I did use a pattern, I used New Look 6576 Size A (nb - l), which was like $3.50 at WalMart of all places.  And I know exactly what you mean about not finding girl clothes you like, I never really paid attention to them before now.  So many garish colors and tacky prints, ugh.

Oh, so so so so cute! I love the colors in the patchwork.  Did you cut out the jumper from a plain fabric then patchwork over it? Because the edges came out very nicely and the squares are so centered. You did an awesome job!

I wish I could take the credit, but it wasn't nearly that complicated.  It's a pre-patchworked fabric I bought at Joann's a couple of years ago.  I've gotten compliments on everything I've ever made with it.  Too bad it'll soon be gone.  Cry
