One of my all time favourite books! I loved reading this book so much when I was growing up, and I still love it just as much now. I have a collection of about 30 Alice's old and new.

The card bases are heart playing cards which have then been painted and distressed. I wanted an old fashioned but slightly edgy card with Alice reaching for the bottle and wearing a dress that says eat me, kind of in a bite me way!

Both cards together...(open)

(closed)

This is the initial sketch that I did to test that the windows for the 'rabbit hole' would work okay...

See the white rabbit's ears and clock by the right of the door?
The tape measure on the right is so she can see how much she grows/shrinks when drinking and eating!

The knave of Hearts...who stole the tarts, naughty boy!

This is a playing card, painted and distressed. I glued a layer of acetate with the definition for time printed on it is layered over the central image. I cut out around his face though as I wanted this to stand out for the final image. Then added his body, limbs and of course his stolen tart!

Amazing! These cards are all blowing me away. Your folding card is gorgeous and so clever - I love all the thought that went into it. Brilliant and beautiful!

I was totally going to do this book, and I played around with a few ideas that never went anywhere.  It's a good thing, though, because these cards would have totally blown away anything I would have put together.  Fantastic book and absolutely awesome interpretation!  Cool

Fantastic work, as always, my dear.  Those cards rock!  Smiley  I think I recognize the 'time' acetate, too!  Smiley
