I got a table from freecycle as a side table for my bedroom. It was dirty and rough when i got it so i took a power sander to it.
Official Before picture (I was cleaning it when i took this):

I sanded it and covered the top, drawer, and bottom shelf in faux stainless steel contact paper that i got for 5.99 a role at Home Depot!! weee!

i'm thinking that its not done. 1st im gunna put a cool pull on the drawer..and i think that im going put these 1"by 1" mirror tiles on it...in these places:(sorry this pic is so small..do u think the mirror tiles would look good here? i like the whitewash white paint look but i want to embellish some..i love the mirror furniture...feedback would be much appriciated!! i'd love a craftster viewpoint!! lol)
Thanks, AMY!!!

So far it is looking pretty cool.  I think a black iron handle would look sharp.  The one inch mirror squares might look good... though a long one inch wide mirror might look good on each side of the table as well.

I love this! Does the contact paper come off? I think I'd like to use that on my kitchen cabinets (what the landlord doesn't know can't hurt me).

Cheebz: Yeah, if i messed up it would pull off pretty easilly. I dont know about it if was on for a long time. But i don't think that it wouldn't hurt to try right? lol! i think that it would work really well for cabinets. They had cork paper too!! which would be really awsome too!!

I don't know about the mirror- think that might be overdoing it- but that's just my taste.

A nice black pull would look great- get something vintage & natural to match your unfinished wood parts. Like ceramic, or glass...

you could just carefully paint the edges like black or something dark

I like the changes too and have to agree the mirror might be too much but I really do like the suggestions of black with it. Good work and great eye to be able to "see" the new piece!

What part of home depot did you find that contact paper in??? The table is fab!
