My inspiration:
http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application?namespace=moreInfo&prnbr=ZM-187698&cgnbr=OSPNKSPLPAN&moreInfoInd=largeView&dispMode=STANDARD&buttonClicked=btn_lg_view&selColor=

My Way:
JoAnns was having patterns 5/$5 so I purchased a pattern for some lounge pants. If you are savvier than I with sewing pants from your own pattern, I'm sure it would be a lot less confusing than the pattern I bought.

Instead of "PINK" or the other sayings VS pants usually have on their pants, I decided to put my French class to good use. I decided to write "Live, Laugh, Love" but in French (it translates in an infinitive form saying you guys live, you guys laugh, you guys love).

Here they are:
Front

Left side/Live/Vivez

Butt/Laugh/Riez

Right side/Love/Aimez

I used felt for the letters and iron fuse to get them on the pants. The whole iron fuse process is very tedious. I'd say fusing the letters and spacing them on the butt was the hardest.

I'm amazed by anyone who can just look at something, be inspired, think that they can make it, and then do a fabulous job! I could never in my life do something like that! Very, very good job.  Smiley

Wow, love it! Could you explain the whole iron fusing thing to me a bit more detailed? I'd love to try it out.

Yeah, I may not be very good at explaining but I'll give it a shot.
The "iron fuse" as I mentioned is actually a product that you can buy at JoAnn's. This is the actual product:
http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2864&PRODID=prd49052&source=search

The directions tell you what to do--basically turn on your iron. Iron the stuff on the wrong side of the fabric A you're wanting to put on fabric B then put fabric A right side up and iron to fabric B. (Their directions make more sense & are just better.)

It worked pretty good, however the edges of the letters on the sides were coming up. I'm not sure if the iron wasn't hot enough, my technique sucked or it was the product. I used fabric glue on the loose edges which holds up pretty well.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.  Grin

Those are amazing pants I would have never thought about putting the words in French . I was wondering which pattern you used?
