I don't think it looks like a curtain at all, but if you're concerned about looseness, making it shorter might help...

That doesn't sound like it should work, but I guess the leggy-ness counteracts the shapeless-on-purpose-ness??

nessnessness, okay, I'm done.

ah that looks so good! i love the fabric too.

i have a question for you though, or for anyone else who's used the built by wendy patterns- i've heard they run sort of big, is that true? should i size down?

anyhow, great job!!

i've made everything according my size on the packet, and it's all been fine. hard to tell with A-line, but judging by the diameter of the sleeves this dress fits (the sleeves are kind of narrow!); and the babydoll blouse i made fit round the bust just fine (obviously, it went loose after that).

It does sort of look like a curtain, but isn't that the idea :-)?  Love the lining, love the curtain thing, it looks good on you and you match the decor perfectly.  Can't get any better than that.

Well, I went to Monsoon today, and they had a skirt in that fabric, so other people are using the fabric for RTW...would have bought it had it been a dress (I am going through a dresses-only period), I tried to find it on their website to post it here, but couldn't. I wonder if it's an old model, because I seemed to remember the fabric when I saw your pics the first time...

This is really cute. I love the fabric you chose. It's so indie! And you accessorized it well. I, too, would have worn my vintage owl necklace with it.
Great job.

SewForYourLife: Awesome! i feel so special!
i bought the fabric at spotlight (australian joanns, or michaels, or something); and i noticed the other day they had a beautiful retro print floral that a chain store here had made into skirts last season.

oo, and on the topic, a top i saw on the anthropologie site for $90, well mah mummy bought the exact same tee in a department store in Aus for $30 (not anthro-branded). and some shoes on the anthro site for like, $200 are $100 in a chain store here (again, not anthro branded but EXACTLY the same shoes)....

I was just in spotlight today eyeing off this fabric as well.  I think it looks fine, especially with the tights.
