So this year, I'm thinking of being a mummy. Similar to this... (but not as many slashey holes Wink)

My question is, if I do this, what shoes should I wear? I really detest white heels, so that's out. I'd like to be fairly comfortable, too. Do you think white flip flops would look cheesey/stupid? Any ideas would be great! Thanks! Smiley

PS--I don't have to worry about warmth. Wink

I'm sure you could find a pair of white flats, especially if you start looking now. Even ballet flats that have white ribbon Smiley ( or you can add yourself), tight around your calf and have the excess hang around!

If comfort wasn't a concern, I'd say go for stripper shoes (like this!...okay, so I happen to adore trashy clear-platform high-heel shoes...I'm weird Tongue).

Since you'd rather not kill your feet Wink, something simple, like white flip-flops or flats, should be fine.  Like kcfirecracker mentioned, you can always add ribbon or long strips of fabric to make them go with your costume.

Thanks, guys! I didn't think of adding a ribbon!

And, Ali, WOW! Those are kind of amazing. I like clear stripper shoes, too, but I can't for the life of me walk in anything that tall. I'm height-impaired. Grin  Maybe I'll look for some clear heels/platforms that aren't quite so high, and add a ribbon. I won't be on my feet the whole night. Wink

I'll let you know what I find.

ooh ooh ooh! I was a mummy last Halloween!

I got a pair of off-white sandals from the thrift store (I used off-white gauze) and ended up kind of wrapping some of the gauze around the sandals too....there's a pic in this post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=130494.msg1268322#msg1268322
Sandals looked ok I guess, and definitely easy to walk in. But the costume was sooo fun to make & wear, have fun and good luck!!

You could also wear gold metallic shoes-- they always have that Egyptian look.
