its more like pieces and ends, but you could tear off strips and use as is!

I have a drum carder so I run it through once to make nice even batts but you don't really NEED to, its just kinda nice to.

You definitely don't have to card or wash anything!  I actually had several nice long strips of roving that didn't seems like mill ends at all.  The rest have been fine to spin with...no extra work necessary.

I got mine too. I love this stuff. My extra add in was a bag of superwash. I have never tried it yet but I will get around to it. I have used my spindle for the rest of the stuff as I have been working a lot. I am in the millitary and out people in the squadron are out on the boat. So, I have ahd lots of time while just answering the phones here. I got the black and white mix. It it real awsome when spun up. I want to do more on the wheel. I think I am gonna order more for sure. I am gonna ply it with some black thread I think to make it look even cooler. I think I will use the wheel for that though. Anyway, thanks again for the tip!! I couldn't help but giggle at that. I'm trying to hold out until payday to buy any though. But at that price...They sell 1/2 lb bags here for $15. Thats just plain wool though. There is a 1/2 lb bag of camel hair roving for $60. So soft...

I went ahead and bought some more, including a pound of grey this time.  Did anyone get some of the silk?  I think that will be my next purchase from them.

SILK??! Where is the silk? I didn't see any silk on the site, but I didn't look past the wool roving pages... I haven't ordered mine yet; waiting to hear from a spinning girlfriend to do our order together...this could be dangerous.

i do'nt know if you can outright buy the silk...maybe you can ask if she has any on hand?  I think that is "as available".  i got some last time but it was in the grab bag.

yeah...I went back and looked & the stuff that I thought was silk was just wool in bell form.  The artist in me looks at the pics before reading...I really need to do something about that!  Oh well, it's still lovely stuff.  I think you're right about them having other fibers in small amounts if you request it.  I read something about that on the FAQ page.

I'm glad you guys all like the roving. The first time I bought from them I was a little bit iffy about it, since the prices are so cheap, and only ordered 2 lbs. Last order- 8lbs!!  Wink I love the fact that it's in roving form, and I don't have to wash and finish the wool like I did for the raw wool. The grab bags are awesome, you can let her know what colors you prefer, and she'll send those over. Try to over dye the black/white roving with pink dye, and it's black and PINK! yay!
