you need pliers - remove the jump ring at the end of the chain you want to shorten, cut the chain to the length you want and re-attach the jump ring there
when dealing with jump rings it's important to twist them apart otherwise you'll ruin the circle shape
hope that helps

Thanks for the tip!

Oh no - I am so sorry! Feel bad now...
Don't feel bad, it's not your fault Smiley Besides there's no way I'd stop using the shirt! (one can't let the washing machine win Cheesy)

Thanks!

And that necklace is beautiful knit_core -- beautiful work.

thanks!  All the chain is silver plated, and so should not disturb the delicate balance of your skin!  Trust me, I'm sensitive, too!  Believe it or not, the box gave me the greatest struggle.  I have this really awesome rubber stamp that I can never make work for anything, and I kept trying it on the lid of that box, and then painting over it with that red over and over again, until I remembered the BIG stamp I bought for one of the other regency swaps.  One try, and it was perfect!  And then, the decks of cards were too tall for the box, so I had to stick some in the lid, and attach some ribbon on the inside to hold them in.  But I loved that box from the moment I saw it at Hobby Lobby!  I'm glad it all finally got there and that you like it!  Smiley

Debbies only get respect in the knitting world.  How unfair is that?

Because Poe wrote on both of them.

Anyone up for a Jasper Fforde swap?

Yay! I'm finally posting pics! Here's my awesome package from Taerowyn, my lovely and understanding swap partner!

First a beautiful stationary set inspired by regency wallpaper:

Here's the stamp (It's a Fleur de Lise if you can't tell)

An adorable stenciled shirt with my favorite quote from P & P:

Isn't the image amazingly crisp?

And her first piece of crocheted clothing - a cute wool cropped jacket:

Thank you sooo much Taerowyn! I love it all!

Yay! glad you liked. As I said in the letter, I was trying to go for something that looked like a spencer jacket http://www.habithat.co.uk/images/SpencerJacket.jpg, but since I can't sew Roll Eyes I had to do it in a craft I can do. Hope it fits!

And how's that for picking out your favorite quote? Total serendipity...I just wanted to do that image and that was the quote that worked.

So nice of you to get silver plated chain!  It shouldn't irritate my skin the way nickel does.

And thanks again for being a great partner!

Thanks! Though remind me never to take on a project quite that size for a swap  Wink

Here's the stencil:

The words were a separate image...let me know if you want those too.
