I've used Period Impressions and Sense and Sensibility patterns, which I would definitely recommend.  PI has a bib-front regency gown pattern that is front fastening, for those of you who don't want to disturb your maids, LOL!  Though my regency corset is decidedly back lacing, so I always need help with that.

Those are hard-core!

I have to admit that I took extreme liberties in construction, including elastic in the drawstrings. And a whole mess of machine stitching. (French seams, though.)

That button placket isn't even functional -- no buttonholes, just decorative buttons.

So, on the whole, the dress is about as authentic as Mr Collin's piety. All for show.  Though it is for-real white linen.

Ok, so this is what regency ladies looked like on the days they DIDN'T wear their dresses backwards:

I need to do some pressing, but I'm just so relieved it fits correctly! Smiley

Irish_Belle asked me to post a picture of what I sent her, and here it is:

two doilies,
zippered pouches,
clutch,
and the little satin pouch has a sleep-mask in it, 'cos the mistress of pemberley needs her beauty sleep  Wink

So pretty!

But if YOU had Mr Darcy on the pillow next to you, would you use a sleep mask? Of course, it could be a wedding gift from Miss Bingley...

Hahaha! If I had Mr Darcy on the pillow next to me, I would NEVER even close my eyes for longer than to blink when they're getting too dry  Grin

If I had Mr Darcy on the pillow next to me, I would flutter my eyelashes constantly

This post is picture heavy, but dragonflyducky deserves it!

She sent me the most wonderful, generous package.  Imagine my excitement when I came home to a box like this:

I literally squealed with delight (which I don't do very often Wink ), as I unwrapped each item.  When I thought I was done unpacking the box, I would find another item!

There's a large tapestry bag, a beaded reticule, hair pins and clips, hair sticks, imported Yorkshire tea, homemade soaps, a necklace, and an ATC.

I love the tapestry bag.  It's so sturdy and the fabric is gorgeous!  Here's a close-up of the fabric she used for the outside:

The reticule had beads at the bottom that were a nice touch to an already beautiful bag.

She must have done her research well.  I love hair sticks and the beads on these are so pretty and perfect for spring!

These hair pins and clips will be put to good use.  I love new hair toys!

I can't wait to try out the tea:

My favorite soap of the bunch is the lavender:

The necklace is just like "Jane Bennet's necklace in BBC's P+P (when Bingley proposes)."  Oh darn, I guess I'll have to watch the movie again, to see her inspiration. Wink  dragonflyducky knows I have an allergy, so the necklace's heart shaped clasp is 14k plated.  Isn't it so cute?

Last, but not least, she included her first attempt at an ATC.  I love it!  She definitely blew me away with the quality of it.  I'm honored to be the recipient of her first ATC.  I love the stamp that says "sassy."  That one word describes Lydia perfectly.  Are you sure it's your first ATC?  You're a pro at it!

Thank you for being a wonderful swap partner, dragonflyducky, and thank you for hosting, Quincy134!
