Quilt-a-long!

I hope you guys don't mind if I jump in here?

I started my new quilt a week or so ago and it's going to take me about 3 months to complete! So I need all the encouragement I can get!

It's a personal story quilt of all the major things that have happened since me and my husband first met. Each block (20 altogether) will be appliqued, then I'll have to put borders on them, sew them all together, border the whole thing, put backing and wadding on and then quilt it!

I've made two quilts before but this one is going to be hard work - especially as I can't afford to buy new fabric, just have to use what I've got!

I have 2 quilts that I need to finish and about 3 more I want to start! if I ever get a free moment to finish them that would be nice!

I can post pics when i get home later today! (im at school) I just learned that my friend can use the fancy imbroidery machine at school to put my name and the year on the bottom square! YAY!

I am loving the quilts that have been posted here so far! You guys are inspiring me to do some more work on my monstrosity.

I just got a brand spankin' new digital camera today, so maybe I'll actually post some pics tonight! Anyone have any ideas as to how to take a decent picture of a king sized quilt?

the only thing i can think of is a clothesline! its so hard to photograph big quilts!

I love it! They all line up so wonderfully. My first quilt relied heavily on the stretchyness of the fabric so that the seams met.

I've had to fold up and put my quilt away for now  -I'm going back to uni and have exams and stuff, and don't want my boyfriend to see it. Managed to (by skipping revision) get some applique done today, but I wanted it finished!

Mmm, well after a bit of a break bag making, I have returned to quiltmaking. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit the extent of my UFO's though. I made a list last year and the total was sixteen. I tried to get half done but only succeeded if you count the two I donated to a charity drive. Total at the beginning of this year. 16, now at 17. Total quilts started and finished last year. 1.

I will try to get organised though as this many on the go at once is frustrating, I never seem to finish anything.

Yeah I counted my quilts that were started but not completely finished yesterday and came up with 19.  I pretty much had a fit...I added it into my signature line in the hopes that it will shame me into finishing some.  But it turns out all I want to do is start new projects...hmmm .  However I have vowed to abide by a, "can't start one till you finish one" rule, although maybe I should do, "can't start one till you finish two" (or three, or...)  My sewing machine right now is my mom's featherweight, which rocks, but you can't really machine quilt w/ it, so anything I finish has to be by hand and it slows me down.
