I'm going at the weekend so I'd love to hear some places for decent fabric shopping. Where I live only has one semi-expensive shop so I'm fairly excited about the prospects in a big city  Smiley

Hello

I used to live in brum and can definitely recommend the markets, the indoor one behind the bullring is pretty good for some crafty stuff.  Also there is a fancy fabric shop on digbeth high street (gain, nearish to the bullring - selfridges side).   If you are venturing further afield on stratford road there are some great shops that sell sari fabrics.

Have a fun in brum  Cheesy

Thanks for the recs! I went off to the rag Market just past Selfridges and Barry's Fabric Superstore in Digbeth. Wonderful to shop somewhere with actual fabric choice.

Sirvinya - Glad you enjoyed brum  Smiley

Tiny_viking - This website tells you when the markets are on.

Stratford road isn't very far, about 10mins on the bus (think its a No 6 from by the bullring, there is a travelwestmidlands information shop at the back of the pavillions shopping centre).  Just head along on the bus to the sparkbrook/sparkhill area, to find a plethora of sari shops & great places to eat!  (I'd recommend Jyoti's restaurant - its a vegetarian/vegan Indian restaurant and its lovely!).

Have  fun!!! Grin

The Fancy Silk Store is heaven. I dont know the name of the road, but its just opposite the outdoor markets by the bull ring.

Also, as previous craftsters have reccommended, there are some stalls in the indoor markets too!

Happy shopping! Let us know how you get on!
