If a swapper has a lot of "poor communication" and "sent late"s is it OK to turn them down for a swap, is there a certain process to go about this?

As an organizer, you may make any rules you wish for your particular swap. The best thing to do is make it very clear in your rules at the signup stagewhat sort of swapper you may not accept. For example, you might list a rule that states, "Please do not sign up if you have more than (X) instances of sending very late and/or poor communication listed in your feedback."

That way if someone signs up and you are worried about their ability to follow through, you can cite the rules you have written in your signup section, and politely tell them that you will be unable to add them to the list of participants.

I would also like to remind you that instead of posting a new thread when you have a problem you can use the help desk. This eliminates anyone finding out publicly and we can get more specific details.
The help button is right under the craftster logo on the top left. Cheesy

I'm not asking because it's something I'm faced with at the moment...just curious because in past swaps I've participated in, I know sometimes people can be less than great swappers but still get "positive" because they sent...and I wasn't sure if that entitled them to swap in the future or if it was up to the organizer. Thank you for letting me know, though, I'll be sure to use the help desk for things of this nature to preserve discretion! Wink

This is good to know too! I have organized a few swaps and had no clue that I could impose certain rules  Smiley

It's a good idea to take into consideration comments like "sent late" or "poor communication".  But we should also consider other, more positive comments.  Say someone got "poor communication" comments for their first 3 swaps, but they've since participated in 20 swaps where they've gotten "good communication" comments... in other words, they've gotten a lot better about communicating.  Those first 3 swaps shouldn't hold them back.

You may have to make your rules based on percentage instead of a definate number. For instance- No one is allowed if they have 3 late shippings.

I have 70 swaps so I probably have shipped late (I know I have! Wink) more than 3 times.
But, if someone has 6 swaps and 4 have been late that is different.

Hope that makes sense.

Definitely. It's more the poor communication issue I'm concerned with anyway. Late is so forgivable, life happens.
