Okay, so I watched an episode of Knitty Gritty (DIY network in the US) and they made these little booties... so I just had to make them too!

The pattern is free on the DIY website:

The pattern is very easy to follow and look! No DPNs! Anyway, I entered them in our local fair and was very excited to win a 1st! (I know, I know, it sounds like I'm gloating, but if you knew how many unfinished sweaters I have laying around you'd understand!)

What do you think?

It's plain to see why you won first place. Nice work.

Ooh!  Did you make the hat too??  I thought both of those projects were adorable.  What yarn did you use?

I used berocco suede and berocco plush for the booties... it's kind of expensive but at least you don't have to knit a swatch!

I made the hat too, but it only turned out okay. Something about weird sized ear flaps...

Very cute.  I bet they're very warm!

I would love to do a personal swap!

(And I would trade anything I own plus a part of my soul, heck all of my soul, for some homespun yarn)
