i would recommend transfering or i mean tracing them with tracing paper or cheap interfacing to preserve them if you fuse them with something and something happens to it , you are out a difficult to replace pattern. i have been collecting and using vintage patterns for about 7 years now and i think they fit better than a lot of the modern ones:)

I use white tissue paper to trace all of my patterns onto.  I don't cut any, because I sew for myself and my sister, and we are in different sizes.  The tissue paper works very well, and it's cheap.  I have a few vintage patterns too, and I'm so disappointed, because they won't fit me.  They were really skinny back in the 40's and todays 14 (in sewing patterns) is not the same size as a 14 in the 40's.  sigh... I will just have to learn to resize them.

I really like the McCall's 6705 one. It looks like it would be fun to make...maybe I'll have to draft a pattern like it.

I love the Mccalls 9175.

I always trace my patterns.  Especially Vintage ones.  I would really love to frame all the envelopes and put them one my walls.  I just love them so.

I've been collecting vintage patterns over the last few months.  I have a collection of the covers in my Flickr.

Here's a link if anyone wants to check them out:
