This is grandma and baby Hana in her sling.  I love slings, I live in the city and I carry her around in it all the time.  They're pretty easy to make too.

For the best tutorial go to Jan Andrea's website http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/.  She has great directions for all sorts of carriers.  I use the directions for the one layer sling.  Twill material works best for me.  Its more durable than calico cotton but is still light and slides easily through the rings.  And be careful what rings you use.  Don't use the skinny crafty rings, they're not strong enough.  I get my rings from http://slingrings.com/.

I love your sling! I used a sling with both of my girls. I highly recommend the unpadded sling tutorial on sleepingbaby.net. I also got my slingrings from slingrings.com. I made one out of some cotton twill fabric I got for $2.00 a yard. We used it instead of a stroller on our Vegas vacation. I carried Sugar-Love (my youngest) for six hours straight. I even breast fed her in my sling. Yay for slings!

I made one, but it didn't turn out quite right...I followed the instructions, but it was too small! *shrug* I did use it a few times with newborn #3, but my back couldn't take it. Sad

Whoa!  I love the fabric you used!!  Great job.   Smiley
I've made slings using the instructions on www.slingmemommy.co m for a simple, one-layer unpadded ring sling.  I also get my rings from Sling Rings, and would recommend them.
I really like that fabric...   Cool

Thanks Mushter for the links.  I'm going to try and make myself a sling for myself.  I'm going to try the box pleat sling.
Wouldl anyone recommend that one for a sling?
