Okay, here finally are all 3 of the cards I received.  They are all fabulous!  Very fun for my first ATC swap  Grin  Please pardon my photos -- I don't have a scanner, just a camera and a verrry steeaady hand...

From Tristitia, similar to one already posted, but slightly different -- you can't really get how many layers of texture are on this one, with the paint techniques:

From Lilbandade, a very cute take on the theme:

And from Ptarmic Wumpus, a beautiful card with sequins, beads, and stitching, that reminded me of when I lived in DC in college:

Tristitia and Ptarmic Wumpus, both of you put some kind of sealant on your cards.  Is this the Future floor wax, or Mod Podge, or what?  They look like they might not be using the same technique...

Thanks to all my partners!

Melinda

What did you use to stick in those flowers? Lovely card by the way.

The flowers are pink iridescent sequins, which are sewn on with thread and seed beads, the same way you'd sew them onto fabric.  Really cool!

Yes, sequins, somehow I have acquired a giant bag of different sequins....  Smiley  The finish is some other brand of floor wax (not Future) over mod podge.

okay, I tried very hard to capture the specialness of Katxena's card:

can you see the embossing? Look closely under the embossing at all the layers. And see the stamps/embossing? they are partial stamps, so intriguing.

And the extras. Katxena said the open door postcard has a special story. Okay, so do tell!

Thank you Katxena, I so love your card!

Sewknitter, I'm so glad you liked the card, and the extras.  It was great fun to make, and your pictures of it are great!  The postcard story might be disappointing -- I got 3 of them from OriginalYouth, and she asked that I pass the 2 extras on.   I love those blue coatcheck tickets.  I have a book of 2000 tickets -- 2 of each number from 1 to 1000.  I found it at the dollar store of all places!  The dollar store has the best ATC supplies.

What I really want to know is what the heck that ostrich is doing with that egg on the Chinese newspaper.  That is the weirdest picture.

My final card arrived this morning, from Winter 83.  Green is my favourite colour so I really like this one.

So, I received this card yesterday from Alteredmommy (sorry it took a while to post).

Old Country

It's hard to see in the scan, but the bits that look silver are actually gold leaf.  I keep staring at it.  Wonderful card AM, thank you!
