This is another art quilt/wall hanging for an art benefit I am participating in on thursday.

I am really happy with the way this turned out. The finished product is very very close to what I saw in my head before I started the project. It was inspired by a sunset I saw at my inlaws house a couple weeks ago.

The  black silhouette part is velveteen, the other fabrics are a mix of batiks, quilting fabric, and the part that is pink-white is a piece of white fabric I washed (accidentally) with something red and it ended up looking tie-dyed.  Wink The majority of the fabrics are from my stash. I used wonder-under to affix the pieces to the batting, then quilted it and the backing together. Its about 12" by 36"

Oh wow, that's really beautiful...! Reminds me of the long summer nights and the dark winter afternoons. Yeah, I'm a sucker for sunsets.
You did great job, I'm sure you'll get a lot of compliments.

This is so gorgeous!  I love how the pieces aren't "even" and symmetrical, but man! that must've been a b**ch to sew!  LOVE IT! Oh, I hit THIS ROCKS!!

Thanks for your comments everybody!

Kitshbitch- it really wasnt that bad to sew. I fused everything together before I sewed any of it. Can you see the curved stitch lines? That and a stitched outline on the black is all the sewing I did. Well, and the border/binding.  Grin

Susankg53, there were no auctions at the benefit last night, all the artists set up tables and sold their own work. This wall hanging didnt sell, unfortunately.  I think I may just keep it.  Grin
