the lining is usually supposed to be a tad bit smaller than the outside part, about an 1/8 off each side. this helps to prevent rolling, where the lining shows. you do this with all things you line. hope that helps.

Thank you! I'll try it again tmw., that was very helpful!!!

i finally sewed a little of it yesterday and got frustrated because it was being a b**ch, i am making it a little harder than the pattern says it is for my nephew it is going to be a bag for his gameboy so i wanted to pad it, kinda like a computer bag would be. i have been sewing for a long time, so i figured i could do it. i have faith in myself that i can, i  have just been procrastinating. it is also hard to sew when everyone around you keeps bugging you while you are trying to do it. but i will finish it when i get back from my vacation.

Mine is 98% complete.  I have to make a supply run this morning to finish it off.  Film at 11 p.m. or thereabouts. Wink

I think this is the silliest single item I've ever produced.  I'm so proud!

Ooh I can't wait to see it! I hope to get my lining cut and pinned together tonight, if not completely sewn.

Here it is:  the zebra purse.

It's made of zebra-pattern fleece, black fleece scraps, and the mane is made of yarn.  The strap is black belt webbing.

I saw something vaguely similar in a magazine a while back and just made this one up as I went along.  The head is a cylinder and gets its shaping from darts at the top and bottom.

Adorable!  Is it roomy?

I keep thinking of my bunny backpack, with no room even though it's this huge stuffed animal... Roll Eyes

Thank you so much!  Grin

It's pretty roomy -- the body measures 13x9, and there's no stuffing in the body.  That's why it kind of collapses on itself in the picture.

I made it for my 4-year-old daughter, and she'll fill it with enough stuff that the body won't sag.
