WOW! I love that! What a wonderful job. Definately if you do a pattern I would love to give it a try too, and actually you just inspired me to go deconstruct one of my favorite machine made sweaters so see if I can replicate it. Yay!

I love this!!! Please think about posting your pattern.  I have some rose camo yarn begging to be made into this sweater

Thanks a lot for the compliments everyone, you made my day.
I'll try and post pictures of me wearing it soon. The drape of the Bernat thing is not that good though and the thing is a bit bulky, it is not as flattering as I would have liked when it is closed as a result but it looks very nice open.
I promise to TRY and write a pattern, at least for the pattern repeat I used. I am new at designing and did a lot of improvisation on this one.

petite_audrey- That is truely beautiful. I usually don't crochet sweaters, but I would definitely give this one a try if the pattern was available. I can just see this in some sinforia cotton mercerized yarn.

Absolutely gorgeous!  I'm so impressed that you improvised this.   Whenever you have the time, even if you write a rough template with the stitch pattern, I could so try to make something like this for m'self.   Grin  Thanks for posting!

I agree, some mercerized cotton sport weight yarn would be lovely with this.  I saw someone wearing a sweater crocheted from Patons Grace that draped beautifully--just to throw in another yarn suggestion.  Bernat Cool Crochet, which is an inexpensive nylon blend (I think) is also supposed to be good for projects like this.

Here are the new pictures

I might try the paton grace for the next one, I am still looking into it.
I am searching for some kind of standard size measurement chart to have a go a pattern writing but I can't find any that looks accurate.

I can't imagine why you think it looks unflattering closed!?! I think it is adorable, and very flattering. I am so jealous of your skills, I still only make hats, scarves and animals...

The hoodie looks great. I've been crocheting for forever it seems and I still haven't made any kind of clothing garment. This has inspired me!
