I'd rather swing on the moon than a star.

A few weeks ago, I slipped in my bathtub.  I broke my foot back in August, and so I didn't want to risk falling again and hurting myself, so I decided I needed a bath mat for the tub.  Only problem was, they all were ikky - the ones I found had seashells on them and were a tan colour, or they had weird massaging things on them for your feet...no, I wanted a plain bathmat, in blue or yellow so it would match my star/moon theme.

I found a bright blue bathmat at the dollar store, but I decided it was pretty long and kind of ugly, and while in the houseware section, I saw moon and star shaped silicone bakewear...and a project was born:

Partial outline after I had cut out a few.  I used the silicone bakewear to trace moons/stars on the back of the mat, then cut them out.

I had enough room on the bathmat to cut out 4 stars and 4 moons, plus a bunch of little circles (which are just the suction cup by itself). My shower is relatively small, so I put the rest on the wall:

the shapes got a little funny because of the mat having the holes in it, and because of the placement of the suction cups, but overall, for $3 including the templates, not bad!

Very creative!  Love the color of the mat, have to look around for it!

That is a super cute idea!  Do the shapes hold on well?  We recently bought a new shower mat and it's the slipperiest (is that a word?) thing I have ever seen in my life.

I am sorry about your foot!   Undecided  I hope you are feeling better soon!

I've discovered that if they get soap residue on them, they get a little slippery, so it almost wasnt' worth it, bu then as soon as the shower starts going for afew minutes they're fine.
