I just posted this in completed projects, but it applies for the challenge also!  I modified a lace scarf pattern (that looks like strawberries Smiley) to make this shrug.

With a long-sleeve shirt

I used less than one skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease, which Joann's lists as $2.99 retail here: http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82241&PRODID=87603&source=search

Total cost: < $3

Thanks so much!  LilMissPink, I really liked your idea about the long sleeve shirt--so much that I ran and put one on to see how it looked!  I actually had knitted it for 3/4 sleeves, but I stretched them out and they worked as long sleeves!  So I can sort of re-block it each time to choose 3/4 or long sleeves.  I took more pictures of it this way, and I made myself presentable enough to put my face in the pictures too Wink

It's so pretty!
Do you have any notes on the construction? Is it knit sleeve to sleeve and then the ribbing picked up?
