so i gave this another go, with way cuter fabric
and i added an extra panel in the middle for more cards, so its a trifold wallet/organizer
and i was brave enough to attempt the zipper pocket on the outside
i love it!  its perfect for me
now to make a really cute bag (big enough for my son's diapering needs) and im good to go
yay!
thanks again sewpixie, you are awesome.

Aww cute. I like the extra room of making it a tri-fold. I may need to try that on my next one since I have alot more cards than I thought!

It's gorgeous! I love the fabric, and it looks so professional and funky at the same time. You've totally inspired me

I know this topic is kinda old, but I really liked it!!  I had gone to the stores for some fabric for some bags I wanted to make but like always (my dumb luck) when I went for this purpose with my money I couldn't find all the supplies I needed.  Now I usually go with some back up plans, but no complete supplies for any of my back ups Angry.  So I remembered seeing this thread and didn't know what fabric to use so I went over to the "cheap bins".  Ya know, the ones with all the leftover fabric and saw the cutest fabric!!  I decided to use it.  I looked for binding, but they had all colors except for the red-orangy one Angry.  Luckily I remembered I had the piping I used at home.  So I wasn't AS excited anymore cause I felt I wanted something more so I had the guy that keeps following me around help me search for some cute buttons.  I was looking for cat buttons but actually found star buttons Smiley!!!!  Then I wanted something for the inside to make it sturdier and possibly water-resistant (one-I'm a klutz and spill everything 2-it rains like crazy down here. and yes I know the sides are open Wink).  I didn't have sturdy interfacing at home, much less water-resistant, so I searched for things at the store.  From crafts I went to school supply looking for a binder I can cut up but nothing as sturdy as I wanted it.  So kinda iffy about my project I went to the cash register and as I passed the home section it hit me Grin.  THEN, next day I decided to start.  Realizing I forgot to buy a zipper, I ripped one out of some jeans from a bag of clothes I was going to take to the Salvation Army.  (Yes, I know I'm a horrible person.   EmbarrassedBelieve me, I thought about it and thought about it, then I just closed my eyes, aid I was sorry and ripped it out).  THAT'S when my machine got totally messed up.  I wanted to cry Cry.  I had been working all day on it cause I kept getting interrupted and I'd sew things backwards and whatnot Cry.  But I was so into it I kept going instead of waiting.  Well at night everything was calmer and I was almost done...my machine messed up Shocked.  I wanted to cry.  So I looked for advice everywhere and finally got it to work the next day.  So, yes finished with some errors I know how to correct next time, here's my organizer wallet.  I'm gonna add in a couple of more things on my next one also.  I didn't didn't I'd use this, but I did.  It's great for when I wanna leave my purse behind. Smiley

I beaded the cat's necklace though you can't really tell from the pic:

Very cute. The star buttons are perfect. What did you use to make it sturdy from the Home Section? I always wonder through the the fabric store for a long time and then forget to get something I need for a project. Undecided

hehehe...don't laugh...a $.50 white placemat. HAHAHAHA  It sort of hit me as I walked over to the cashier.  I turned and bolted straight into the home section,  ransacked thru the piles, and there they were at the bottom of all the printed ones.  I just cut it, slipped it in, then after I finished the whole wallet I placed the folded edge under our TV for a couple of hours.

BrightEyes, I really love your wallet!  The fabric is great!  And the placemat is a good idea, too.

Thanx Fille.  I've always liked the red, white and black combination and this fabric sort of jumped out from the rest in the bins.  The placemat thing was funny cause the ones they had all had decorations and stuff.  As I stood up I tried again by just sticking my hand at the bottom of the pile, and there it was, a white one. hehehe
