Why are you listening to Tetris?

First off, I hope I'm putting this lil guy in the right place.  It's definately reconstructed, and it's kind of a wallet... clutch... thing?  So, if I'm in the wrong place, I'm really sorry!

After cleaning my room up a bit, I found three of my old school gameboys.  One of them, however, didn't work.     I felt bad for the poor lil guy.
My boyfriend then gave me the idea "Make it into a purse!"
So... I tried.

The weird thing is... it wasn't nearly as roomy as I thought it would be!  It'll hold some money, bank cards, mp3 player... but not a whole lot more. (I left the original headphone hole open so I could run my headphones into it) So, maybe it's not entirely practical, but it's fun!

In retrospect, there are quite a few things I would have done differently, but I'm sure not hacking up one of my working gameboys to try again.

Haha, fun!  it's a good idea...since you left the headphone hole, you could always just use it to hold your mp3 player!

I did something similar with a book where I cut out a hollow section in the middle, another smaller rectangle for headphones to go in when not in use, and in the larger section on top I made the hole about 1 cm larger than my ipod nano on each side. Then I cut a foam pad the same thickness as my ipod to the larger size - 1 cm bigger all around - and cut out an ipod-size hole in the middle, and glued that in. So it was basically a 1cm-wide strip going all the way around, and my ipod fits perfectly inside. I can listen to it with the ipod in place inside the closed book. I did this because I am paranoid about my ipod getting marked, I want it in pristine brand-new condition (I'm the same way about my phone). If you wanted this just as an ipod holder, a piece of foam like that might hold it nicely in place!

If only I had kept my game boy.  Do you remember Sega Game Gear?  It seems like that might have a little more room.  With a handle, it could make a nice clutch.

redwitch: That's a really good idea!  I'd thought about something along those lines, but never went much farther than thinking about it.  I'll have to give it a try.

KittyCreates: Yes!  I loooved the Sega Game Gear!  I think I had maybe two games?  haha, but I always wanted to take it with me every where I went.  I have no idea what happened to mine though... I wish I still had it, I'd so try to make it into a clutch!
