Inspiration hit when going through my boxes of fabric...

I'm guessing that in everyone's craft stash there is something - a piece of fabric, a couple of balls of yarn, some beads - that you think is truly hideous. You could have inherited it from that crazy colour blind aunt or brought it in a moment of insanity. No matter how it got there, it is there and you just know that nothing will ever induce you to actually make something out of it. But you can't bring yourself to toss it. There is, after all, nothing essentially wrong with it.

I propose an ongoing swap where we dig out all those supplies that we don't like and offer them on to a new, and hopefully loving home. After all taste is subjective and another craftster might see some potential in the item that you yourself don't.

"hmmmm with a little bit of over-dying that fabric could be great"
"my five year old would love that fun fur"
"oohhh that is perfect for my next project"

And if no-one wants an item, you will be well and truly validated in your belief that it is really that hideous

one man's trash...well you know how it goes  Wink

The difference I think, is that in the offer what you have swap you'd kind of feel obligated to offer those supplies we don't want that are reasonably nice. I think this kind of swap will give people the freedom to offer up things that they would be too embarrassed to admit having due to their absolute hideousness.
