Me and my husband are planning to travel to Australia for a visit just after Christmas this year, planning to go for a week.  As I have never been there, would like to seek some advice from the experts here.

Please kindly suggest any craft stores/ flea markets/ designers' shops, etc. I must not miss on this journey.  I am into handmade jewelry, home deco and unique clothing.  Thanks in advance!!!

Hi candlelight,

Just go through the Sydney check-In thread in this forum and ask the guys and gals there.

You might want to check out What's on Sydney. Each capital city in Australia has one of these guides, and it is a good (though very broad!) starting point for looking.

You might want to check this site out
for a list of the markets and fetes in the State of New South Wales.

Although not craft-related, these sites may be of interest to you for things to do whilst you are here:

As you are only staying for a week you may not have chance to do these things but they really are must do's for any tourist to Australia:

the middle of Australia to see Ayers Rock (Uluru),
a trip to the Northern Territory,
the remote Kimberly region of Western Australia,
the tropical region of far north Queensland,
Launceston in Tasmania

Hope you enjoy yourself - it will certainly be nice and warm for you if you are coming just after Christmas!! Bring lots of t-shirts, shorts, a hat and some sunnies!   Cool
