I made these baby shoes for my friends' new baby. They're wool/acrylic felt with snaps and rickrack bows. I used a pattern from the Martha Stewart website for (that's right) "felt baby shoes." The pattern is here if anyone is interested: http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.0e0eb51a2e6b5ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=da672e912b11f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextchannel=07a19db8cdcee010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&rsc=photogallery&lastnavigatedchannel=07a19db8cdcee010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD

It took me a while to figure out the sizing, so I wound up making 3 too-small shoes before I got it right. If I'd gotten it right the first time, I'd say the pair would have taken less than an hour.

They look great!  I tried making these and they did not turn out good at all, so I am highly impressed.  What a lucky baby. Smiley

Thanks! I'm not sure what problem you were having with them, but I actually wound up machine sewing the body of the shoe -- I hand-sewed the first one, and it turned out all lumpy around the edges of the sole.

I think they'd definitely work for AG dolls. I had a bit of trouble with scale -- I finally blew up the pattern something like 225% and it yielded a shoe just over 3" long.

I saw that pattern, too, but unfortunately my baby is too big for them now!  Yours are adorable, though. Smiley

These are so precious and being tiny, they might just get me back to sewing again!

Warmly,

Lynn

wow!  Those are so cute!  my friend is pregnant, and I know that her husband's family is going to be making some alternative baby clothes for her (sleepers that tie shut at the bottom so you don't need to wake the baby when your changing him/her) and i'm sure she'll love these!  Since she isn't due until at least December...that'll give me enough time to figure this out!  Thanks for the link!
