I have a dumb question - the little triangles randomly along the pattern lines - what are they for? Are you meant to cut them out!? I think not, because I ended up with two diamond holes in the back piece.
Those are markings, you match up the marking of one piece to the marking of another piece so you know you've attached them right. Smiley Simplicity uses the triangles, but I've also seen patern companies use numbers, squares and circles, or even just a single line to denote markings. Don't cut them out (though some people add a little triangular bit to the seam allowance), but mark them with some chalk or temporary fabric marker, or even with a bit of coloured thread.

It looks really good on you! From the pics on the pattern, I wouldn't have thought it to be so great, but I think I'm going to have to pick this one up and give it a try!!
