You are obviously much braver than I am.  No way would I attempt to make my own jeans...it would be too frustrating.  I am highly impressed.  The shirt is great also, I love the colors...you must have a killer wardrobe.  Great work!

You have done a super job of making two rather difficult garments without a pattern. Both are really attractive and impressive. Amazing!! Keep posting.

That is super impressive.  I mean, yes, the jeans are impressive by themselves, but for doing the shirt without a pattern/with draping - wow!

Woah. You make your own jeans? And they look so professional!

I'm 6'3" so I know the problem with buying pants, though I have resigned myself to having to spend mucho money to buy long pants (yay 37" inseams!)

I'm impressed that you've been making your jeans for so long, and they look great, very professional! Also, the shirt is beautiful! The pleating around the neckline is stunning.
I can't believe that you did both of those without patterns! They look fantastic!

Those are awesome, and so flattering on you! Great job! And your "sewing interruption" is very cute!  Cheesy

You are a ROCK STAR!
You are an excellent sewer! Those jeans kick but!
The top is gorgeous!
Thanks for the inspiration to keep sewing so that one day I can do it well like you!
How long have you been sewing and how did you learn.
Any advice for those of us intermediate sewers?

Oh my gosh! thanks everyone for the great comments!!!

magneticmary - I've been sewing for approximately 10 years, I taught myself how to make pants as a teenager. For about 9 years, I only made pants. It's just been this past year that I've ventured into the scary world of tops. (the opposite of most people). My advice would be to buy fabric on sale and just go for it! Buying fabric on sale was key for me, because then I wasn't so heart broken if something didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped!

Now I'm just counting the days until I graduate (I'm currently a grad student), so I have  more time to sew!! (there is so much inspiration on here)!!!
