that is incredibly pretty!! I worked with microspun once too and didn't like it either. It splits too easily. It's so soft though! Smiley

That's why I chose the microspun... It was soft, machine washable, and I just didn't know if the girl would inherit her mother's allergies (she's allergic to everything. Trees, grass, you name it...), and aside from that, I'm one of those people who detests the pukey pastels everyone wants to make baby things in, so using a 'baby' yarn wasn't really an option.

Thanks so much for all your responses. And now, I'm off to work on my tetris afghan, the first thing I've ever started solely for myself.  Smiley

I don't know if this would be true for the Microspun yarn, since I've never used it, but I tried the Lion Brand plastic crochet hook on some Homespun projects that I've done and it split way less often than with my other crochet hooks. Made it much more pleasant to work with. Just thought I'd pass that along.

your blanket looks great, but I can't IMAGINE working with double-stranded Microspun! that stuff is very difficult to work with...

I've always wondered why all the "baby" yarns tend toward pastels when it's the brighter, bolder shades that really catch the little goobers' attention.  Lovely blanket and way to go with using doubled microspun (the evil slippery, splity thing it is).
