having allow around is never a bad idea!

I have eczema to and it's nice. What I love is Aquafors. I can't remember who makes it, but they use it on babies in the NICU when they are born prematurely and if you have really raw or dry skin it helps TREMENDOUSLY!

Are you sure it was the sunburn and not that you were allergic to the sun block?

see, at first i thought it was food allergies but
ive never found anything ive been allergic too
and i would have reacted differently.
plus i had used the sunblock before
so it couldnt have been that.
im glad to say im over the burn and
the swelling has gone down.

my only thing now is peeling.
ew, its so gross.
so i just peel it and apply lotion?
or is there some magic healer
to get rid of it? because id love to hear it.
aha.
thanks. (:

Swelling is a normal symptom of a severe sunburn.

Oh, don't peel your skin off!  It will come off on its own, if you pick at it you'll peel off parts that aren't ready to be shed yet, exposing new baby skin that may be too fragile to be exposed yet.

Lotion will help prevent peeling in the future, if you put it on BEFORE it starts peeling.  It can also help get rid of some of the dryness now.

I live in Daytona!  And I hate that damn sun, it always gets me...

Ok, Sisters.  I am about as white as that little dog on my avatar and will burn every single summer until I die (probably due to skin cancer!)

How I deal with the burn:
1.  Advil 4x/day
2.  During the day, some kind of aloe get with the lidocaine in it to kill the burn.  Just aloe will not work for me in serious cases.  (Sorry natural types!)
3.  At night, and this is going to sound so bizarre but it's the best thing ever, SLATHER yourself in Noxema (well, I use the Target generic, but whatever) I mean slather.  Like you are a cake and it is the frosting.  Do not rub in.  Put on a clean soft t-shirt to sleep in.  When you wake up in the morning, the Noxema will have absorbed into your skin, moisturizing it so you won't peel (as much).  Also the menthol and camphor oils in it kill a lot of the sting.  This has saved me from so much pain.

Believe you me, I've tried the tea, oatmeal, vinegar, whathaveyou, NOXEMA WORKS.
