Wow!  you're totally clever...I never thought of trying to make something convertible- but the good news is that I didn't explain clearly the first time I was writing.  What I meant to say was:
I refuse to knit something that I can only wear for 3 minutes before I gain another lb.  So, I don't knit maternity clothes.  This makes it difficult because I can't try on and I'm never really sure if I'm getting my sizing right.  I made a pattern of my non-maternity size from an old shirt that fits me in between pregnancies (Like I said, this is my fourth so life is either pregnant or will be pregnant soon...I really want a big family! but I just hit 30 so this might be my last...I'm getting too old for this stuff.)  Anyhow, I can look forward to wearing this maybe in September.  Next I'll knit something for one of the kids...I just have to do a 'me' project sometimes and this pattern looks so pretty....

Oh no!  Your pictures didn't work.

Have you tried using photobucket.  Craftster is so nice to provide the little insertion thing when you're posting that it really makes it super easy.

That must be pretty frustrating to spend so much time knitting something for your current size, and only being able to wear it twice or so before you get too big for it!

from another pregnant knitter, worse is not knowing if you'll ever fit into after the pregnancy!  guess it'll be motivation to lose the baby weight!

Thanks I finally figured out photobucket.  i was hoping someone would see all my failed attempts and give me a hint.  you read my mind!  here's where i'm at now:

As for losing the weight...well, now that i have the sweater i know I WILL.  this is the 3rd sweater i'm knitting and won't be able to wear for another 6 months or so...of course, it will be freezing then so i will have to wear a big coat over it.  but i'm going to wear it gosh darn it! i've lost the weight 3 times before...hopefully it will come off again this time.
