There are no hip craftsters in Mt??  I find that hard to believe.  I see them in Michaels and the lys all the time!  What's up with that??

I think that we are here....we are just holed up in our houses crafting!

I live in BFE Eastern Montana. We've got a little quilt shop here, and if I want to travel to Williston or Havre I can hit larger craft stores. It's a 3 hours drive either way, though.

I want to hear about what kind of wool festivals and such are going on up here! I know that we will be having the Eastern state fair here in Glasgow, and I will try to hit up some farmers for fleece. I really want to get ahold of some raw fleece!

If you see them at your Michael's and LYS (I am so jealous!), then make up some craftster business cards and get them here!

I'm in Billings and I don't really have friends here yet. I'm kinda of new. Lived in Dallas, Texas for about 29 years.

Just went to Portland and was so inspired by all the art and culture.
This state is just too spread apart.

Maybe we should start some kind of state artist trading cards/craft exchange to support the small scene and get more people interested.

I live in Great Falls, and I'm very disappointed in our few craft stores we have. Any suggestions on maybe traveling a little bit for some good craft stores??

Hey everyone! I live in Billings and know for a FACT that there are awesome crafters all over the place! In fact, I run with a whole circle of crazy crafters. Not only that, but we have some wonderful stores here-- knitting, scrapbooking, quilting, and plenty of them. My very favorite is Sisters, which is a scrapbook store-- anyone who doesn't think Montana has charming craft stores and crafters NEEDS to check out this store!

I wish I lived closer to Billings just for Hobby Lobby! lol. We don't have that many good stores here in Great Falls, just the usual Michael's and Joann's. However, since I've seen this post, I've actually recently joined the Etsy Montana team, and met quite a few crafters here. I don't think that they are on Craftster, but there's definitely some crazy talented crafters out here in Montana!! Smiley

Hobby Lobby is awesome-- but I'm a fan of little stores. We(my finace's mother, sister, and I) are in the process of creating our own, so I love supporting local stores! I don't know what you like to craft, but I am definetly a quilter. Great Falls has some AWESOME quilt stores! I went there on my senior trip-- both the Quilt-a-way(which was a top-ten best stores in the nation by a leading quilting magazine) and Big Sky Quilts are both wonderful.

I have been to Big Sky Quilts, because I live right by downtown. I have not been to the Quilt-a-Way, but thanks for letting me know because I know my mother-in-law would LOVE to go there when she visits!
I mostly crochet. My weakness is incredibly soft, wonderful yarn, unfortunately, the only yarn store we have is very nice, but quite pricey as well.
It's good to meet a fellow crafter though!
