Thank you!

Ohh .. beautiful!  I love cards with writing in the background!

I do too and I'm glad I know how to do it now.

These three cards were made for the swap at my ATC meeting.  The theme was black and white.

I really love the way these cards look layered. Did you use gesso on them to get that look and is the top layer, the darker black color, is that embossed? It looked a little sparkly shiny in one spot. Very nice set of cards.

Thanks!  Actually, it's vellum that I embossed the swirls on (with glittery embossing powder!) and then layered over the card.  I wanted a dimensional look and got it, but I always have a hard time attaching the vellum properly.  Also, if you emboss the vellum, make sure it's not attached to the card.  For some reason every time I tried to do it with the vellum already glued down it buckled and lifted away from the card.  That might have something to do with my impatience with glue, though.

Oh, now I like that idea. How did you end up attching the vellum to the card? I really really like that layered look you achieved.

I think most glues aren't really fond of direct heat, so if its glued first, using the embossing gun on it will cause it to peel.

Those are wonderful ... I love black and white. I have a lot of trouble with vellum, too ... glad to know I am not the only one!
