lol I made mine simple cause they were a gift for my little sister, made some "laces" from other color ribbons and made some cute (removable) charms with the left over fabric I cut off of the shoes. lol simple. not much talent required here. She loved them though. : ) so proud of myself. sorry for the low quality pic. this was actually taken with an old skool disposable camera ; ) lol

Edited on May 2nd!

I made some more for my aunt who is turning 15 in a week! she loved the ones i made for my sister so i made her a pair for her very own!

lol sorry I'm just so proud of myself i like the way these came out better...

Thanks to who ever thought of this. they are great. ; )

And I would totally tell anyone who is thinking of doing this to go for it! it's super easy and you don't need much. but i found out the second time around that it would be easier to glue down the binding with fabric glue and then stitch over it cause it makes it a much neater finish and more professional looking. also, with the ribbon 'laces' i highly recommend you secure the edges with non-fraying glue so they stay laces and not end up a bunch of string. okay I'm done lol sorry! : )

OMG thanks for all the replies this was actually the first time i ever posted anything i've made.. thanks! : ) and as for the edges... I used (instead of the recommended ribbon) Quilt straight edging. I'm not sure what it is called but I know it worked very well becasue it was the perfect width and folded straight down the middle so it kind of hugge the edge of the shoe and didn't move.. thus making it easier to hand sew a straight line (lol). and yeah i custom decorated teh box too lol i decided to go all out ; ) and P.S. I wold totally recommend you trying this with your old shoes cause I bought this pair with the sole intention of making these (and i actually bought two pairs cause i thought i would mess up but i didn't). So simple. there's a tutorial around here somewhere.  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=120870.0

Those are very adorable.  And I love the personalized box and tags.  Very cute!

I wasn't going to make these, then i got some ribbon ($1 for five yards!) and I had an old (over a year old) pair of chucks so I ended up having to do it  Smiley  I love that you made a pair for your sister! you are so nice.
