Here's a tutorial for a halter top with a built-in shelf bra: http://sewingdork.blogspot.com/2010/05/pattern-free-womens-halter-top-with.html.

This page has scans from The Illustrated Hassle-Free Make Your Own Clothes Book showing how to make a couple of very basic dresses or tops, a 1971 Woman's Day article with diagrams for groovy '70s or "ethnic" clothes, and a drawing showing a full-skirted Viking tunic:  http://sandradodd.com/duckford/sewing/

Fabric.com has a free Hot Patterns download for a pull-on, 8-gore skirt: Bossa Nova Swishy Gored Skirt. It's in sizes 6-26 (Hot Patterns' size chart) and there are only six pages to glue together.

I think I'm going to make that swishy gored skirt so I'll show you soon! Thanks for the pattern link, I've got just the fabric for it.

Hi guys!

I don't know if you know this but the web site http://leko-mail.net is allowing free downloads of all their women's patterns for one size (equivalent to a Burda size 44) which I believe is a size 18 in US patterns (41 inch hips).

The patterns are pdf's. It lasts for one month. I believe for the month of May (I didn't notice an end  date on the site). I am not affiliated with these people and I don't speak Russian but the download page is in English.

I did some research on the company to see if they were legit. There is a thread (19 pages) about their patterns on patternreview.com.

http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/sewingclasses/board.pl
Search for "Lekala patterns free in September (size 42 and 44)"

Reasons to download
  • Even if this isn't your size you can always grade the patterns up or down
  • You don't know how to grade patterns? Some are so cute you'll want to learn how to grade patterns

Have fun! Don't blame your carpal tunnel syndrome on me! Wink
