Hey all!  This was originally a mirror but with the help of my oh so cleaver dad, it is now a corkboard and chalkboard.  I got it from hobby lobby for about $4, and the mirror in the background was broke.  The second I saw it I knew what it's true potential could be!  So we took the back of it off and removed the mirror (which of course I saved for future fun) and added a piece of plywood to the back of it.  From there I spent a movie and a TV show cutting all these wine corks in half (with a utility knife might I add) and glued them on with some Elmer's Ultimate Glue, then I sprayed the other squares with chalkboard paint....and ta-da now I bring you this ultra fun wino message center!  Now I must think of some great tacks for it.  What do you guys thing?

That's great!  Where do you get chalkboard paint?  Does it erase as easily as a real chalkboard?

just a thought, but you could use bottle caps... I think it'd go with the whole wine theme....
you could proly just get some longer thumb tack and glue em to the bottle caps... just an idea!  Cheesy

Hey!  Thanks for all the great compliments!  I got the chalkboard paint at Hobby Lobby.  I had checked wal-mart and they didn't have it, just to put that out there too.  I love the bottle cap idea!  I've been saving some for another project I was going to do, but I'm going to have to try that out over the next couple of days.   I think I may put Diamond Glaze to cover over the bottom part of the bottle cap to help against getting poked by the edges.  Does anyone know if it can be used as a glue as well to keep the tacks in there?

Very cute! My mom just bought the same mirror from Hobby Lobby but she's using it as a mirror, lol.

I have a few big wine drinking friends, I'm gong to ask them to save me their corks, this looks like a great thing to put in the kitchen.
