oh, you asked the million dollar question...or the $1.50 question i should say!!!!

i have a little spot at the flea market i shop at.....a little old lady that was once a seamstress and had a shop.....her aunt did the same thing...so she inherited her aunt's stock as well as her own. Her children told her that they had no interest in the fabric or her shop so she better start to get rid of it. So, she took a booth at the flea market and is selling it off for...........dum dee dum dum....$1.50 a yard. I got fabrics from the 50's for a fricken $1.50 a yard that were her aunt's. So, i go see her every Sunday (she tries to bring new stuff every week), and i call Dulcinea in an excited tizzy over what she brought me. Dulcinea is in on my addiction (BFF!!!)...i go every fri-sun. in the spring to estate sales, tag sales, and two different flea markets.....I am a nutcase, i know, but there is such good crafting stuff to be had!!!!
If anyone is looking for stuff, let me know...I have a list of things I look for for craftster friends!!! Smiley I like sharing!!! Smiley What goes around comes around i say...right Dulcinea? Thank you again for picking up those finds you found today!!!! Smiley

I think ptarmic is an economist with great ideas.

For all the leftover fulled sweater bits, I've seen a patchwork throw made with it since it's easy to zig-zag end to end.  Or if you make pillowcovers that would go with my darker red couch I would claim them!

OMG...$1.50/yard for vintage fabric?!?  I wouldn't be able to control myself...  I would probably buy her entire inventory Tongue

Wow.  We have a bunch of scientists in this swap!

Alas, the thrift stores, flea markets and estate sales in Los Angeles largely suck. Too many people combing them. Plus, the owners are wise to us and inflate the prices.

Luckily, I do have access to the fabric district which makes me happy on a gazillion levels.

That's a great find xladyluckx, I'm jealous! I don't have a car, or even drive, so flea markets are out for me, they are too far away.  Sad

And on a Friday afternoon, it seems like we are all online!  Tongue
