I made these for one of my January Jamboree (IYP5) partners. Her fave color was green. Wink

I love that grocery bag!  I've considered making up a few for myself.  I am so sick of having all those bags in my house(I refuse to throw them away until I've reused them until they are toast!).  Hmmmm....  I do already have a ton of projects started...

Thanks! You should make one! It went really fast, one evening I think. Wink  I love instant gratification. Grin

i've been wanting to make one too but now i am ready and i can't find a pattern i like enough. (not good enough to try to create my own)

so far this is best i've found, http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=2330&PHPSESSID=59b4f85967edeea748f6065b8eb8d8ad

but i want to make it expandable-like - just how yours is!

is there a pattern somewhere online- for sale or free for that bag Cheesy ?

anakarina, that bag you linked will expand, too, when you put things in it! Any crocheted bag with a mesh stitch will. I actually saved that pattern, I intend to try it out too. Wink  Unfortunately, I didn't write down how I made my bag. If I make another, I certainly will, but if you can eyeball it and work out your own, you're welcome to do that. Smiley

Yep, I worked dc in the round with increases until I had a size I liked, and then started with the mesh. I decided to add a couple rounds of dc again just for fun, and then went back to the mesh stitch. I worked the handles in the round too, because I hate joining and sewing. Wink  One tip: you want to make your handles a bit wide, for stability and strength.

thank you again! that's just the kind of direction i needed before attempting it myself. even since i learned to read patterns i've been afraid to try to attempt to crochet things without it. but i do believe i'll try this!

i want to make a bag like this, does it stretch back to normal when you take the stuff out?  or does the bag stay stretched out?

Since I used acrylic yarn, it snaps back to a smaller size without anything in it. Smiley
