18 months is old enough to carry their own stuff, right?  I made this little backpack for my son to carry a diaper, wipes and a sippy cup on short trips to the park or store.  It's just the right size.

That is adorable.  It is the perfect size too, not too big, not too small. I am sure he loves it. And, he is learning to be responsible for his own things!  Grin

way awesome Smiley  I bet he loves that he has HIS own bag that he is responsible for carrying HIS items in- that's so great and I agree with RubyPurl - he is learning to be responsible for his own things, and if he's like most kids, he probably adores that he's given the responsibility.  Anything to be more grown up and do the grown up things that mommy and daddy do!

Fantastic!

oh my gosh! i love it! and i also love that you feel that he's old enough to carry his own things. i work with 2 to 4 year old children and all day long they walk around and do all kinds of things for themselves, and sometimes when the parents come to get them, they just scoop up their kids and carry them to the car--(i know they are in a hurry..but) it seems like they forget they have "big kids" that can be/want to be very independent!
what a fantastic bag! i agree with someone else that said, i be he loves it!

That is soooooo nice! Congrats on a well planned and executed idea! Smiley

I've made purses for my daughter, but they're not practical enough.... She wants to stuff too big plushies in them, so the seams burst... Didn't find this site until a few weeks ago, or I might have made her a backpack myself - hers is store-bought...
