Almost in time for the 70th anniversary of H.P. Lovecraft's death... here's my attempt at a knitted cthulhu!

I'm sure there are loads of patterns out there on the net but i thought it would be more fun to make up my own. I made it for a friends kid out of some leftover cheap generic acrylic yarn, double knitting weight. It's all pretty sturdily sewn together and machine washable so hopefully it'll stand up to being battered by children. I cheated a bit by cutting the claws out of felt and sewing them on - i didn't think you could really knit claws that looked sharp and threatening enough! The wings have got a crochet trim round the bottom in an attempt to give them a sort of webbed effect, and he has a silly pointy head just for the hell of it.
Hope you enjoyed looking and weren't too scared.

This is awsome. You've got him done perfectly. I'd welcome a pattern too - my husband runs a Call of Cthulhu website so I think he'd like one...
