OK, I finally did it. With a couple of modifications I made my first convertible dress! I'm still so excited. I'm going to wear it to my cousin's wedding. There are a couple more in the works too.

here's the dress hanging up. I had to add an extra piece between the waist and the skirt because I cut the skirt too short and didn't want to make another one. I really liked how it turned out.

I also modified the original waist band and made it long enough to go over my chest and further up my back. That way no one ,including me, has to see that.

This is without the straps wrapped. I was thinking it might make a cute dress even without the straps...ideas ..heh ..heh..

This is how I'm planning to wear it at the wedding which is in San Diego so it'll be warm. It needs to be pulled up some in the back though. (oh, ignore the messy floor i the background...in fact there is no messy floor in the background...if you see messy floor your just hallucinating and you should probably go see a doctor...)

Here's an alternate wrap method. I figured i should at least post one. Smiley

Love it.  Your clever mods show how this dress can be tailored and reinvented again and again.  Great colour fabric too - it seems to have just the right amount of sheen.

I've made a couple of these for kids but so far my own has not progressed past the fabric purchase!  You have inspired me to get going on it.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I'm about to make one in lilac now. I think that this is probably the best dress style ever. I keep finding myself at 2am playing with the straps and seeing how many new ways I can find to wrap it. lol.
