I love it! I was looking at this type of design in a book recently - the simplest designs often turn out to be the most striking. Well done!

Yes I did quilt this myself.  I stitched in the ditch for the patches and in the large border I stippled.  In the smaller border I stitched like a "wave".  I'm not the best at free motion.  It would be much easier with a large machine.  I used a Pfaff Quilt Expression.  I think I went through about 12 bobbins of thread!  If I ever make a queen or king sized quilt, I will definitely get it professionally quilted by someone.
