maybe my ideas are not that out of the ordinary, but these ideas popped in my mind when i saw the fabric:

coordinated purse and bag, or you can line boring bags with them.

boxer shorts

simple nightie or pajamas

pillows, neck pillows

coordinated sleepover (or travelling) set that includes: large drawstring bag to hold all the items, makeup bag, jewellery organizer bag, you can add it as a trimming to a plain towel, house slippers.

Pillow cases - use one to make the pillow case, then machine applique on 5 hearts along the opening edge with the other - I've done Christmas ones - red pillow case with 5 green trees along the edge. My kids love them - adds even more to the excitement of the holidays!

Also - make small stuffed hearts, and then stitch them together to make a chain or garland - drape them over windows, across doors, over headboards as a Valentine's decoration.

Make fabric origami boxes out of them, and fill them with chocolates for your significant other, friends or kids.

Make cuffs for a red (or white) t-shirt or sweatshirt to wear for V-day.

they'd look excellent as boxers... but that's probably the 'obvious' you were trying to avoid  Grin

I thought that maybe you can make a purse out of the fabric: It would look great with the melted record idea!!! There's a thread here somewhere of a link to get a purse made with the record- put fabric on the top and make it a drawstring purse which stands!

I thought that was cool. Cool
