You used a regular quarter and 50 cent piece? I used a silver quarter from 1964, it's softer than regular quarters... The thing is, I think I might've hammered too hard, too fast? The edge of the band seems thinner and sharper than yours... It's also harder to read the inside of the band, because it seems to be flatter. Yours is a little easier to read on the insede because yours is more tapered. So, I did hammer too hard, too fast?

yeah, the silver is a lot softer than the copper filled coins, .. silver also heats up faster than copper, so that could have resulted in a thinner and sharper band. also, i took my dremel and sanded down the sides just a liiiiiiittle bit to even stuff up, which could be why mine was a little bit thicker than yours. and as far as hammering too fast... there is no such thing

heres my secret.. shh.. i used the exact same tuts that funkyhooker posted (Thank you for doing that
).. i just used a regular quarter and half dollar instead of the ones made before 1964

About how big can you make these? I have huge fingers, so I wonder if they'd work for me?
Also- do they turn your fingers colors?
They're awesome though!

well the smaller one i made out of a regular quarter is about a size 7, so if you have larger sized fingers than a 7 i would suggest using a 50 cent piece
and about the color thing... yes, the newer coins that are copper filled will turn your fingers a lovely shade of green.. HOWEVER, my dad told me to spray on a poly coat and that should help, i haven't had any problems yet
