To the two of you-- why not use it as an excuse to learn knitting, instead? Cheesy! Learning more crafty awesomeness = always good!!! xD
(also, I have absolutely no idea how you'd make crochet twist -giggles- )

-edit- I realized I skipped over the "I can't knit to save my life" line... oops. Well in that case I guess not... but still, knitting is so neat :< ignore me XD

Grin I truly did try to learn how to knit! I used to bowl with a bunch of "older" ladies and they were giving me instructions in between frames. Alas, after taking almost 5 years to finish a small baby blanket, which ended up full of holes, I gave away my needles and re-learned crochet!

I'll just have to continue to ooh and ahh over fabulous knitted items like this!

Thanks everyone! *happy smile*

To those who are looking for a crochet version, I don't know anything about crochet except ye' olde Granny Square.  But I've heard that anything that can be done with knitting can be done with crochet... so in THEORY there should be a way to convert the pattern.

The best way to learn knitting it to get a friend to teach you.  Ply them with wine or chocolate... and they'll be happy to help out, I'm sure!

soo cute I really wanna make this. ALSO wanted to say both left handed and right handed ("wrong way") DNA exists in nature so either way is legit! hooray for nerdyness

But the 'left-handed' version is not a mirror image of the right-handed helix, it's very different from even this cartoony common representation. Sarah
