you know what I mean....
one of those wide neck 80s type sweaters that fall off one shoulder in a sassy way....

I'm looking for a modernized version of that!!!

I'm not sure where to find a modernized version of that, but here's one that looks to be from the proper era. I'd suggest using a yarn that has a good drape, as this looks a bit stiff -- maybe even try using a sport weight yarn and adjusting the pattern to get your size? If you don't mind having a slightly "meshy" fabric, you may be able to do it using the hook size they suggest for the WW yarn, but use a thinner sport weight yarn instead, which would make a softer-looking fabric, i think.

A boatneck seems to be the best option to get that "casually falling off one shoulder" look, or else maybe a big cowl neck.

Hope this helps a bit.

Lene'

PS -- Oh, maybe doing a very big vee neck would work. Depends on how much frontage you want to show while you show shoulder. <g>

If you have the pattern to that, what I would do is get rid of the first stripe, if you can. it would give you a very wide v-neck, that you could easily shift to an off the shoulder, and be a bit more sassy than a boatneck off the shoulder, imo. It looks like the chest area is done in pieces, then added to the round stomach area of the sweater, so you would just keep making stripes for that to cover the tummy.

Where did you get this pattern? Link, please. It's adorable.
