I just bought a bunch of merino roving in pretty colors today so I could finally get around to using the needle felting tools I got about 6 weeks ago. This is what I came up with while watching a movie. This is so much fun!

I love your totoro.

A couple of months ago, we were in a children's museum exhibit on Japanese pop culture. There was a 7-8 ft tall totoro.  My son (with limited language) looked very seriously at it, and then pronounced, "funny."  completely without cracking a smile.  That incident earned totoro a very special place in my heart.

congrats on a first FO.

This is absolutely SUPER cute. Man, I wish I had the knowledge/supplies to do this XD (and a few less stuffed animals... I think my mom might go crazy if I started MAKING them ON TOP OF BUYING THEM XDD)
But anyways
Great job Cheesy
Your felted totoro easily rivals my store-bought stuffy one!

I like penguins, stars, rainbows and blue.
If your project has any of these, don't be surprised to see me post in it! Cheesy

Thanks guys! Believe it or not, I still haven't seen the movie but my boyfriend has been wanting me to make him a totoro and was having a bad day... So I searched using google images and referred to those while felting it. He really likes it.

But you did great for first time...gosh and watched a movie at the same time and no pokes in ya fingers - wow !

He's a character from the animated movie My Neighbor Totoro. Which, to be honest, I haven't seen yet but my boyfriend is a huge Miyazaki fan and he's been nagging me to make him one. ;-) More info here http://www.totoro.org/

That's sweet.  Love the pointy ears.  Isn't felting a blast?
